Seller terms and listing rules

Who can list

Private individuals aged 18 or over, selling a Porsche they own or are authorised by its owner to sell. Traders may not list as private sellers: it is unlawful for a business to give the impression it is a private seller, and we remove such listings.

What you promise

• The listing describes the car truthfully and completely: its damage, history, modifications, mileage and any write-off. A private sale must match its description too.
• There is no outstanding finance on the car, or you will pay it off before the sale.
• The photos are of this car, taken by you or with permission.
• If the car is not roadworthy, the listing says so.

We record what you declared and when. Keep the listing up to date: mark it sold as soon as it sells.

What may not be listed

• A car you do not own or may not sell, a stolen car, or a car with finance you cannot clear.
• A Category A or B write-off: these may only be broken for parts.
• Photos of another car or taken from another advert, or anything misleading about the car or the seller.
• Links to other sites, requests for deposits or payment before a viewing, or anyone else's personal details.
• Offensive, unlawful or discriminatory content.

How we check and remove listings

We check every listing before it goes live and may ask for changes or refuse it. We remove a live listing that breaks these rules, and we pause one several people report until we have checked it. Anyone can report a listing from its page. If you disagree with a decision, reply to the email that told you about it and we will look again.

How long it stays live

A listing stays live for 60 days and can be renewed. You can change its price and description at any time; new photos or changes to the car are checked again before they show.

Fees

Listing is free while we launch. If we introduce a fee, you will see it, and what it buys, before you send a listing, and nothing already listed will be charged. A paid listing can be cancelled within 14 days for a refund, unless you asked for it to start at once and it has run its full period.

Buyers, viewings and payment

The sale is between you and the buyer: Sonderwatch does not inspect cars, take part in the sale or hold money. Buyers contact you through the site and their message reaches you by email. Meet buyers in a safe place, check their payment has cleared in your account before handing over the car and its keys, and never accept an overpayment to be refunded.

Your data

What we hold about you and your listing, and why, is in the privacy notice. The registration and VIN are never shown in full, your address never, and photos are stripped of their location before they are saved.

Changes and law

We will tell you of changes to these terms by email before they apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
