Seller's description

Friends Green Porsche offer for sale this uncommon example of the Porsche 911; a second generation of the 997 Carrera 4S, equipped with the admired 6-speed manual transmission. Differentiating its appearance from the “standard” models, the 4S variant boasts the wide-body with the beautiful flared rear wheel arches, the iconic body-wide rear reflector strip, side skirts and front bumper lower splitter. As with all “S” models, the 4S also boasts the enlarged brakes, recognised by the Guards Red brake calipers. The optional 19″ Carrera Sport wheels set the Porsche off beautifully and present beneath the car like four pieces of fine art, having been professionally refurbished in preparation for sale, with the centres in Porsche grey and the outer rim to a diamond cut finish. The Carrara White paint work (colour code LB9A) is in fabulous condition throughout with no scratches or marks to note and the coachwork and body panels are in equally as good a condition. The Sea Blue interior is in beautiful order, with clean, supple leather throughout and no damage to be noted. Even the most commonly worn areas, such as the contact points; steering wheel, gearstick and handbrake are clean and unmarked, and less commonly used areas, such as dashboard, carpets and door-cards etc are immaculate. An admired optional option is the sports hard back seats with shoulder supports, which this example is the beneficiary of. Further optional equipment specified on the 4S includes; multimedia interface allowing for phone connectivity, front seat heating and Park Distance Control (rear parking sensors). Other equipment that comes as standard on the 4S variants includes; PASM suspension, xenon headlights, headlamp washers, silver-backed instrument dials, PCM3. Everything electrical functions as intended, inclusive of the ice-cool air conditioning system, which has new condensers fitted. The much admired and rare 6-speed manual gearbox is what sets this example apart from most on the market and is the perfect companion for the 3.8 litre flat six, which was reconfigured for the second generation of 997, with direct fuel injection. The Boxer engine is in fine health, with a smooth idle, blistering performance and a beautiful sound-track, enhanced by a stainless steel sports exhaust system that’s been fitted at considerable expense. The handling ability of the 911 is second-to-none, with sharp, responsive steering and enormous grip and traction provided by the four-wheel drive system and the Pirelli P Zero tyres, which have XXmm of tread to the front and XXmm to the rear. The suspension has been subtly lowered on H&R coil springs, offering a slightly more sporty ride, but without significantly compromising ride quality. The PASM suspension allows for a change in suspension character at the click of a switch, from soft and compliant, to sharp and sporty. The large 4S brakes stop the Porsche confidently and have lots of life remaining in the discs and pads. The Carrera 4S has a full servicing record, with all intervals completed at the Porsche main dealer. The full book pack is present, with all the original owners manuals and booklets in place. A folder with some invoices for works, MOT certificates and miscellaneous documents is also present. The service booklet evidences the following intervals as completed: 28/09/2011 – 20,089 miles, 28/06/2013 – 36,376 miles, 18/07/2015 – 51,517 miles, 03/08/2017 – 61,241 miles, 12/09/2019 – 63,443 miles, 29/04/2021 – 64,844 miles, 05/04/2023 – 67,391 miles. The latter service noted above has just been carried out with us and was a “major” interval including spark plugs and a brake fluid change. In addition to this, the vehicle will be subject to our customary FGP Comprehensive Inspection & Report, with all advisories items attended to prior to sale.
