Seller's description

A generation 1 997 Carrera, in the timeless colour combination of black-on-black, boasting a recent £11,500 engine rebuild by Porsche engine rebuild specialists, “Hartech”. The coachwork is in fine condition, with straight body panels, and no signs of previous damage. The Basalt Black (colour code C9Z) paintwork presents beautifully, with a deep metallic shine, minimal marks, and benefitting from our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing. This example is a non-sun roof model, offering a clean and uncluttered roof-line. The Porsche was specified from new with the 19″ Carrera Classic alloy wheels, which are in good, unmarked condition and set the 911 off beautifully. A black leather interior fills the cabin and makes for a timeless combination alongside the Basalt Black exterior. The condition inside is excellent, with leather that has clearly been carefully used by the 911’s keepers. Areas that are prone to heavy wear, such as the steering wheel and driver’s side bolstering, look fresh and could pass for that of a younger car. Areas such as the carpets, dashboard, and door-cards are wonderfully clean, and all electrical items function as they should, inclusive of the air conditioning system, which benefitted from two new condensers within the last 15,000 miles / 5 years. In terms of optional equipment, the 997 is specified with 19″ Carrera Classic alloy wheels, Park Distance Control, and front seat heating. There are two remote key fobs present. With a comprehensive rebuild, including 6 new nikasil liners and an upgraded IMS bearing, completed by “Hartech” within the last 15,00 miles, the iconic rear mounted flat six is arguably better than when it left the factory. During the rebuild work, a variety of associated jobs were completed (detailed below), including renewal of various coolant pipes, which is a common requirement on the 997 generation of 911. Married to a 5-speed tiptronic transmission, the 997 passes through its gears seamlessly. The brakes are in good condition at the front and the rear, providing brilliant stopping ability. The steering is tight and precise, with various suspension components renewed within the last few years (detailed below). Four new Kumho sport tyres are fitted, providing great grip and traction. A complete service record is with the Porsche, made up by a folder of paperwork relating to work completed, historic MOTs, past sales invoices, and other miscellaneous documents, as well as the full book pack, including the original owners manuals and the maintenance booklet, evidencing 10 service intervals completed, all by Porsche main dealer or independent specialist. These intervals detail as follows: 31/08/2006 – 11,909 miles, 05/10/2007 – 18,563 miles, 16/10/2009 – 29,316 miles, 09/12/2011 – 37,145 miles, 21/10/2013 – 42,456 miles, 13/02/2015 – 52,334 miles, 16/09/2016 – 59,000, 05/10/2017 – 64,977 miles, 23/02/2018 – 66,863 miles, 26/01/2022 – 80,807 miles. The 997 will be going through our usual rigorous sales preparation process, undergoing the FGP Comprehensive Inspection & Report, with any subsequent highlighted items attended to and remedied. In the last few years, the considerable servicing history evidences the following works as completed: Renew drive belt, renew 4x tyres, renew bank 1 variocam solenoid, renew various coolant pipes and hoses, renew 2x front suspension coil springs, renew inner track rod, four-wheel alignment, full engine rebuild including 6x new nikasil liners, upgraded IMS bearing and extensive list of associated parts, renew 2x air conditioning condensers.
