Seller's description

A fantastic first generation 997 Carrera S, in the desirable manual, coupe guise, and with a very recent full engine rebuild by “Hartech”. The coachwork is perfectly straight across all panels, and the Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paint work is in superb condition, with very few imperfections to be found. Our customary FGP day’s worth of detailing has been carried out, showing the Porsche’s fantastic aesthetics in its best light, and protecting it for the foreseeable. In preparation for sale, we have also removed the rear bumper and had it resprayed to remedy stone chips. The original and genuine Porsche “Lobster Claw” 19″ alloy wheels appear to have been professional refurbished recently and are in pristine condition. The black leather interior has worn its years brilliantly, still feeling fresh and not suffering any damage. Even the areas that usual suffer wear, such as the steering wheel, hand-brake, and driver’s side bolstering are without notable wear and present beautifully. The electrical features all function correctly, which is inclusive of the air conditioning system, which has benefitted from new seals to the pipework and a system re-gas as part of our sales preparation process. The 997 comes with all of the usual features equipped with the Carrera S variant, including alcantara suede head-lining, silver coloured instrument dials, PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) suspension, xenon lights, headlight washers, and PCM satellite navigation. There are two remote keys with the car. The option codes list as follows: C16, 567, 936, 981, 983. Mechanically the 997 is in wonderful condition, having had all of the work that these cars often require at this age carried out. Most notably, on 02/11/2020, at 57,324 miles, the engine underwent a comprehensive rebuild with Porsche engine rebuild specialists; Hartech. The cost of this work was £12,943.60, which included six new liners and installation of the stronger variant of IMS shaft and bearing. The six speed manual gearbox provides a rifle-like gear change and the clutch is light with a positive bite, having been renewed on 01/06/2017 at 50,341 miles. The large “S” brakes provide great stopping force and have recently been renewed in all four corners, so have very little wear. During our preparation process, we have renewed an array of suspension components (detailed below), resulting in a 911 that is utterly tight through the steering wheel and handles fantastically through the bends. Pirelli P Zero tyres are fitted, with 5.5mm of tread to the front, and new fitted to the rear. A formidable servicing record is with the Porsche, which evidences the meticulous care that all of its previous keepers have taken with it. The original Porsche leather owners wallet contains all of the original owners manuals, as well as the maintenance booklet, which has ten service stamps; all by Porsche main dealer or Porsche independent specialists. A large folder of paperwork is also present, with invoices for all of the works ever carried out on the car, as well as historic MOT certificates and other miscellaneous documents. The service intervals are as follows: 14/08/2006 – 11,126 miles, 19/08/2008 – 49,997 miles, 29/04/2010 – 29,172 miles, 03/08/2012 – 35,711 miles, 21/05/2014 – 43,599 miles, 19/05/2015 – 45,929 miles, 03/06/2016 – 48,553 miles, 12/10/2018 – 54,015 miles, 02/11/2020 – 57,324 miles, 06/12/2021 – 58,437. As noted above, we have just carried out a service, which was a major interval, including spark plugs, as well as completing a brake fluid change, and the following other jobs: Installation of original front fog light units, renewal of centre interior light bulb, renewal of 2x climate control unit switches, renewal of engine lid / bonnet switch unit, renewal of clutch pedal switch, renewal of 2x front suspension top mounts, renewal of 2x front suspension top bearings, renewal of 2x front suspension bump stops, renewal of N/S inner track rod, renewal of 2x rear suspension lower control arm, four-wheel alignment, renewal of front “cross over” coolant pipes, re-fill and re-bleed of coolant system, renewal of front to rear low pressure air con pipe seal, re-gas air conditioning system. In recent years / miles, the Porsche has also benefitted from works such as: Full engine rebuild, renewal of tandem pump, renewal of tandem pump vacuum pipe, renewal of clutch master cylinder, renewal of three-piece clutch kit, renewal of auxiliary drive belt, renewal of thermostat for low temperature unit.
