Seller's description
2003 Porsche 986 Boxster S Manual – Midnight Blue / Terracotta Leather – IMS, RMS & Clutch Replaced For sale is my 2003 Porsche 986 Boxster S, finished in the beautiful and increasingly distinctive combination of Midnight Blue metallic over Terracotta leather. I have owned and maintained the car for the past five years and I’m its fifth owner. This is a well-specified Boxster S with the 3. 2-litre flat-six engine, offering the engaging driving experience that has made the 986 such a popular modern classic. With its distinctive colour combination, desirable factory options and significant maintenance already carried out, this is an example that deserves to be appreciated by its next owner. /// Specification & Factory Options\\\ The Midnight Blue exterior is a particularly attractive shade, complementing the rich Terracotta leather interior beautifully. It is a combination I have rarely seen on another Porsche and one that consistently attracts attention. The car also benefits from the upgraded liptronic headlights. The cabin benefits from the upgraded aluminium package, with tasteful aluminium accents around the handbrake, gearstick and throughout the interior. The car also features the desirable Turbo S steering wheel, adding another distinctive touch to an already well-specified example. The car sits on GT3 split-rim alloy wheels, which were refurbished last year. The refurbishment included new centre caps and bolts, with the wheels finished in gunmetal. This really sets the car off as they sit infront of the red Boxster S brake calliper's. The only modifications made are a Bluetooth kit and a ‘Gundo,’ exhaust modification. The latter gives the flat-six a fantastic sound and she really sings above 3000rpm. /// Maintenance & Mechanical Work\\\ Having owned the car for five years, I have taken care to maintain it and address a number of important jobs. During my ownership, the car has received two major services, alongside the following work: * IMS bearing replacement * Rear main seal (RMS) replacement * New clutch kit * Rear brakes and pads * Brake lines repaired * Oxygen (O2) sensors replaced * Headlight switch replaced * CV boot replaced * Two rear tyres * Two full services in my ownership the last being 300 miles ago. Supporting invoices and documentation can be discussed with genuinely interested buyers. The car has been enjoyed on road trips and at Porsche gatherings, where it regularly attracts compliments. It remains a particularly enjoyable way to experience the classic Porsche flat-six soundtrack, manual gearbox and balanced mid-engined handling. /// Bodywork & Condition\\\ For a car now over two decades old, the bodywork is in good overall condition, although it is not being presented as a concours example. There is a small scrape and dent on the rear nearside, and the headlights are beginning to yellow with age. Headlight restoration or refurbishment could improve their appearance and a common repair at a bodyshop. These imperfections are reflected in the car’s age and should be viewed as opportunities for a new owner to address over time. The convertible soft top is fully operational, allowing the car to be enjoyed properly as an open-top sports car. The aircon needs repurged however as a soft top, I don’t see the need for aircon. The car is kept garaged overnight and on a trickle charger to keep the battery in good health. Overall, this is an honest, enthusiast-owned example that has been used and enjoyed. This particular car combines that experience with its wonderful exhaust note, unusual and attractive colour scheme, desirable interior details, refurbished GT3 split-rim wheels and a number of significant mechanical jobs already completed. It would suit someone looking for an engaging weekend sports car, a companion for road trips or a Porsche to enjoy at owners’ meets and enthusiast gatherings. /// Reason for Sale\\\ I have thoroughly enjoyed owning this car over the past five years, but it simply does not get used as often as it deserves. The MOT mileage history reflects its relatively limited use, and I feel it is time for someone else to enjoy it. I am not in a rush to sell and would much rather find the right, appreciative owner, than rush into a sale. Sensible enquiries are welcome. Please no silly offers or tyre kickers. If you are genuinely interested in a distinctive, well-maintained manual Boxster S, feel free to get in touch to discuss the car and arrange a viewing. These are future classics that are increasing in value. The car is located in Edinburgh, and a ten minute drive from Edinburgh Airport, its recent MoT and service mean its ready for its next chapter with a new owner who will appreciate it as much as I have. £10500 ono Please note private plate is not included and the car will return to its original registration of [registration removed]
