Seller's description
The colour is Polar silver (not the more ubiquitous Arctic silver), which has a faint bluish tinge – the photos don’t really show this clearly despite my best efforts. This is a lovely Boxster S. It drives perfectly, it is mechanically and cosmetically excellent, and everything works as it should. Please see detailed description below. The ad is a bit long; this is intentional - when I’m looking at older cars like this, this is the sort of information I want. A lazy ad with a few bad photos and barely any detail makes me scroll on to something else. Condition This car is in excellent condition. I have photographed it carefully to give a clear view of the cosmetic condition. Mechanically, it is spot on and I do not have any "to do" list for the car. The items which are known to typically need replacement on Boxsters have all been addressed, and based on my experience of the car, with continued careful use and maintenance, there ought not to be any unexpected issues awaiting the future owner. During my ownership, I have taken it twice to Sam Lander Porsche in Malton (a very well respected North Yorkshire Porsche specialist) who commented at the most recent service on 28 September, "vehicle in excellent overall condition". The next service, assumed to be in late September 2027 unless the new owner covers a high mileage, will be for a brake fluid change, check over, and oil/filter change if mileage dictates. There is a comprehensive file of service/maintenance invoices with the car, the highlights from which (i.e. non routine service items – I haven’t listed every oil change etc.) are:- Gearbox oil changed in September 2025. I also asked Sam Lander to thoroughly check everything about the car as this was the first time I’d taken it to a garage and wanted to know whether there were any issues I needed to address. There were no issues to address, which I’d expected would be the case as the car drives perfectly. March 2025 (63k miles) spark plugs and coil packs replaced. December 2023 (62k miles) new battery fitted. February 2023 (58k miles) 2 x air conditioning condensers and bonnet struts replaced. July 2022 (56k miles) rear tuning forks replaced, front wishbone arms replaced. November 2019 (49k miles) both rear roof membranes, heater matrix membrane & pollen filter membrane replaced. March 2015 (40k miles) IMS bearing replaced, new clutch, drive belt, O/S/F wishbone replaced July 2013 (35k miles) rear shock absorbers replaced The one thing I can’t find an invoice for, which I would expect, is for brake discs and pads, however, these are in good condition and look quite new, so must have been replaced fairly recently. The tyres are Contisport3s, which have 4-5mm of tread remaining. Spec It is the 986.2 (i.e. facelift) version of the 986, so it has the various improvements included with that change, notably the glass rear window. It also has a long options list:- Porsche Crest Embossed in Headrests. Floor Mats with Porsche Script. Stainless Steel Door Entrance Panels with Logo. Aluminium & Leather Gear Shifter. Aluminium & Leather Handbrake Lever. 2-Way Electrical Sports Seat - upgraded hardback sport seat with deeper side bolsters for better cornering support. Leather Dashboard and Door Panels. Full Leather Front Seats. Windscreen Antenna. On-Board Computer. PCM 2 Porsche Communication Management Screen. The central 5.8-inch colour display unit in the dashboard, handling audio and system menus. PCM 2 Navigation Module. Upgraded CD-ROM based satellite navigation system integrated into the PCM screen. Bose Digital Sound System. High-end, premium speaker package with a dedicated amplifier and custom cabin acoustics. 18-Inch Solid Spoke Turbo Look II Wheels. CD Compartment / Storage. Wind Deflector. Top-Tinted Windscreen Activated Charcoal Cabin Filter. Automatic Climate Control (A/C) Factory-fitted heavy-duty battery. Provenance The evidence of the condition and the service/MOT history show that this is a very well looked after Boxster. It has more changes on the V5 than I would normally like, however it is unusual in that the chap I bought it from had re-bought it, having owned it several years previously, and 2019 and 2023 it changed from father to son to father within the same family. Effectively therefore, it has had 5 owners prior to me + Porsche Centre Newcastle. The registration goes with the car, I inherited it when I bought it. I also have the original plates, [registration removed]. 1st owner 2004 – 2009, 19k miles 2nd owner 2010 – 2014, 22k miles 3rd and 8th owner 2014 – 2015 and 2024 – 2025, 3k miles 4th owner 2016 – 2019, 5k miles 5th/6th/7th owner 2016 – 2023 14k miles My ownership 2025 – 2026, 5k miles Reason I’m selling I’m a car enthusiast and have a couple of non everyday cars. There are more cars I’d like to own and drive than will ever be possible, so I tend to change them every now and again. This is my first Porsche and I very much like it; it’s made me want to try a 911, which I shall be looking for once this is sold. I’m based near Wetherby, close to the A1M motorway between Leeds and York. Please get in touch if you would like any more information.
