Seller's description
Finished in marvellous Midnight Blue, and having had in excess of £25,000 spent on meticulous maintenance within the last custodian’s keepership, this 996 Carrera makes for a rare find. The coachwork is in straight and original form, with immaculately straight and aligned body panels. Midnight Blue (paint colour code L39C) is a colour that suits the classic 911 curvature to a T, presenting a classy looking sports car. The condition of the paintwork is very good, with minimal marks, and the common stone chips to the front bumper remedied during our sales preparation process, when it was removed and resprayed. Our customary FGP day’s worth of detailing has also been completed, showing and protecting the fantastic condition of the 911’s exterior. This example is a non-sun roof car, with a clean and sleek looking roof line. The brake callipers have been professionally refurbished in recent times, and look fantastic in red through the 5-spoke Carrera alloy wheels, which are also in superb condition, with no kerb damage. The condition of the Metropol Blue interior exhibits how this Porsche has been cared for meticulously, with no damage or heavy wear present anywhere. Even the usual wear points, such as driver’s seat bolstering and steering wheel, present beautifully, and other areas, such as the carpets, dash board and door cards present as if the 996 was a decade younger. Every electrical function, from the ice-cool air conditioning system, to the electric windows and mirrors, all operate as Porsche intended, and there are two remote key fobs present. Optional equipment specified with this 996 includes PCM satellite navigation, Bose sound system with built-in sub-woofer, stainless steel “Carrera’ door entry kick plates, Tequipment hand brakes and gear knob with aluminium embodiment, alcantara suede headlining, PSE (Porsche Switchable Exhaust), and Litronic xenon headlights. The option codes read as follows: C16, XLF, X54, X70, X97, X98, 226, 288, 411, 425, 440, 476, 567, 601, 665, 09991. The previous keeper’s ownership began in 2013, and since 2015, the extensive paperwork with the Porsche evidences that in excess of £25,000 has been spent in maintenance, carried out solely by independent Porsche specialists “RPM Technik” (detailed below). As a result of this money-no-object approach to maintenance, and with addition of our extensive sales preparation (detailed below), the Carrera is in exceptional mechanical order. The famous rear mounted flat six engine performs as it was designed to, quickly firing in to life, thanks to the new starter motor we have just fitted, idling smoothly and showing impressive performance on the road. The PSE (Porsche Switchable Exhaust) has been renewed with stainless steel switchable back boxes, which offer a quiet and modest tone in one mode, or a throaty, sporty raw at the click of a button. The infamous IMS bearing was upgraded on 14/09/2018 at 81,030 miles, nullifying this cause for concern. The clutch was also renewed at this time, offering a light clutch pedal. The sought after manual gearbox passes through all six speeds smoothly. The brakes have minimal wear, having been renewed on 01/08/2019 at 83,109 miles, stopping the car confidently. The suspension has undergone a comprehensive refresh (detailed below) within the last few years, and as such, the 911 feels absolutely tight and is sharp and responsive to any steering input. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are fitted to all four corners, with nearly-new levels of tread, having been renewed recently. The servicing record is mightily impressive, with 16 intervals completed, all by the Porsche main dealer or recognised independent specialists. A folder filled with paperwork is present, evidencing the aforementioned £25,000 that has been spent with “RPM Tecknik” in the recent past, as well as servicing paperworks prior to this, MOT certificates, etc. The original Porsche leather owners wallet contains all of the original owner manuals. The service records are as follows: 04/06/2004 – 11,037 miles, 20/05/2005 – 17,193 miles, 19/05/2006 – 28,822 miles, 03/10/2007 – 38,597 miles, 12/09/2009 – 44,570 miles, 28/03/2011 – 48,699 miles, 15/15/2012 – 55,715 miles, 23/07/2013 – 62,531 miles, 23/07/2014 – 66,374 miles, 22/07/2015 – 70,638 miles, 22/08/2016 – 75,325 miles, 05/09/2017 – 78,547 miles, 03/08/2018 – 80,914 miles, 30/07/2019 – 83,099 miles, 14/07/2020 – 85,392 miles, 02/02/2022 – 91,140 miles.
