Seller's description

Here lays the chance to acquire a rare example of the 996 Carrera 4S. In the desirable manual, coupe, non-sun roof guise, this car was factory fitted with the scarce X51 Power Pack engine (detailed below). Our FGP IMS Bearing Package has also just been completed, extinguishing this area from concern. Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) is timeless on a 911 and suits the wide body of the 4S, contrasting with the iconic red reflector strip. The coachwork presents excellently, with straight, original body panels and no untoward marks or scrapes. The condition of the paintwork itself is very good, benefitting from our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing, offering a deep, glossy finish, free from swirl marks. Being critical, there are some stone chips to the nose and a small mark to the rear bumper, but this doesn’t detract from the body’s overall fantastic condition. Specified without a sun-roof, the 911 has a clean, uncluttered roof line. The car was also optioned with the twin ringed “Turbo” tail pipe tips, which set the rear of the car off beautifully. The headlights have clear faces and the original wide body 4S alloy wheels are in unmarked condition. The cockpit is filled with an exceptionally well kept black leather interior, specified from the factory with a boastful list of optional extras. The front seat look absolutely fresh, with no sagging, cracking or discolouring. Other heavily used parts such as the steering wheel, handbrake and gearstick are wonderfully clean, and the carpets, doorcards and dashboard etc present superbly. Generally speaking, the condition of the leather inside this Porsche could pass for that of a far younger car. The electrical functions inside all work as intended, including the air conditioning, which has just had its front to rear low pressure pipe renewed and a system re-gas during our sales preparation process. In terms of optional spec, this C4S comes with: Tequipment handbrake and gearstick with aluminium embodiment, aluminium look instrument dials, body coloured lower centre console, 8-way electric seats, Porsche shield crested headrests, heated front seats, PCM satellite navigation, Xenon Litronic headlights, Bose sound system with built in subwoofer, Turbo tail pipe tips, headlight washer system, PSE (Porsche Switchable Exhaust), and most notably, X51 power pack engine. There are two remote key fobs with the car and the optional extra codes are as follows: C16, XLF, XME, XSC, X51, X54, X71, X97, X98, 288, 342, 425, 440, 567, 601, 09991. As has been noted, this example is extremely uncommon, due to being factory fitted with the X51 power pack engine, increasing the power by 25bhp, through means of different camshafts, cylinder heads, inlet manifolds, and exhaust manifolds, amongst other upgrades. As part of our sales preparation process, we have fitted our customary IMS bearing upgrade (EPS cylindrical unit), eliminating this infamous concern. During these works, we renewed the three-piece clutch kit and the rear main oil seal, offering a light clutch pedal and a dry engine underside. We have also renewed the exhaust back boxes in favour of Spyder Performance units with switchable function, maintaining the popular “PSE” (Porsche Switchable Exhaust), which make a befitting sound-track. The suspension is all in fine fettle and on the road, the Porsche offers positive handling with great grip provided by the four-wheel drive system and the nearly-new Pirelli P Zero tyres at the front, and the Bridgestone Potenza tyres with 6mm of tread to the rear. A comprehensive servicing record accompanies the 911, evidencing the meticulous care its been afforded by its three custodians. There is a large A4 folder filled to the brim with paperwork relating to maintenance completed since the car was new, historic MOT certificates, and even the original bill of sale from Porsche Centre Silverstone in 2003. The original Porsche leather owner’s wallet contains all the original owners manuals and the maintenance booklet, which evidences 12 intervals completed as follows: 22/09/2004 – 12,265 miles, 12/09/2005 – 23,416 miles, 07/09/2006 – 28,253 miles, 29/08/2007 – 37,181 miles, 01/10/2008 – 44,558 miles, 30/03/2011 – 60,227 miles, 18/06/2013 – 72,225 miles, 24/06/2016 – 73,802 miles, 03/09/2018 – 75,997 miles, 03/09/2020 – 76,633 miles, 03/12/2021 – 76,984 miles, 01/04/2022 – 77,107 miles. As noted, we have just completed a service and this was a “major” interval including spark plugs. As part of our sales preparation process, we have also carried out the following: Brake fluid change, IMS bearing upgraded to EPS cylindrical unit, renew three-piece clutch kit, renew rear main oil seal, renew front to rear low pressure air conditioning pipe, re-gas air conditioning system, renew 2x exhaust back boxes for Spyder Performance switchable stainless steel units, renew fuel flap locking rod guide, renew 2x bonnet damping struts, clear bulk head drains and bulk head area, install missing bonnet latch cover fixings, clean and protect 2x front shock absorber bodies, clean and protect 2x steering rack PAS pipes.
