This classy looking Porsche 996 Carrera 4S, equipped in the desirable manual, coupe guise, was owned by its previous owner for 10 years, and has just had a lengthy list of prone mechanical areas attended to during our sales preparation process (detailed in the below sections). The coachwork is straight and true across all panels and the Seal Grey paint work (colour code 64B) is untainted, with a mirror like finish and a metallic fleck that becomes ever present in the presence of the sun. The headlights are clear and without oxidisation, the genuine wide-body 4S wheels are without a mark, and there are very few stone chips, even to the front bumper. As standard, our day’s-worth of FGP detailing has been carried out, helping to protect the outstanding condition of the Porsche’s exterior. A matching Graphite Grey interior lays in wait within the cabin, sitting beautifully alongside the Seal Grey exterior. The general condition is excellent, with the heavily used areas such as the driver’s side bolstering, steering wheel and gear stick showing minimal signs of wear. Everything electrical works as Porsche intended, including the ice-cool air conditioning and the retractable electric sun-roof. An array of optional extras are specified with this Carrera 4S, including Porsche crested seat head-rests, Porsche crested centre storage bin lid, PCM satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, 8-way electric seats, front seat heating, Bose sound system with built in subwoofer. There are two remote key fobs. As noted above, the previous keeper owned the Carrera 4S for 10 years, storing it away in a garage and covering a mere 3,000 miles in that time. Friends Green Porsche have carried out a comprehensive “refresh” on the vehicle (fully detailed below), to ready it for its next custodian. Importantly, we have upgraded the IMS bearing to our favoured EPS cylindrical unit, defeating the prominent IMS issue. The 3.6 litre flat six itself is in fine order, with a smooth idle, an abundance of power, and an addictive noise from the new stainless steel sports exhaust back boxes we have fitted. The three-piece clutch kit has been renewed with us, as well as the clutch servo assistance spring, making for a light clutch operation. The highly praised six speed manual transmission travels through its six gears seamlessly. The brakes, which are enlarged on the Carrera 4S variant, have lots of life and stop the car confidently. The suspension is tight throughout, the steering is responsive, and there is brilliant grip provided by the four-wheel drive system and the Pirelli P Zero tyres, which have 4-5mm of tread to the front, and have been renewed during our sales preparation at the rear. Present is a folder for paperwork relating to the Porsche, including servicing invoices, historic MOTs, and HPI certificates, as well as the original Porsche leather owners wallet, containing the original owners manuals and the maintenance booklet, which evidences 9 intervals completed as follows: 01/03/2004 – 5,373 miles, 20/01/2006 – 17,664 miles, 15/06/2006 – 38,163 miles, 01/03/2007 – 49,539 miles, 12/12/2007 – 54,609 miles, 30/06/2009 – 67,695 miles, 25/10/2011 – 83,409 miles, 07/11/2012 – 89,053 miles, 09/02/2022 – 92,474 miles.
