Seller's description
Presented for sale we have a wonderful example of the increasingly sought after 996 Carrera 4S, specified with a choice array of optional equipment and benefitting from a very recent and sizeable mechanical refresh, when we first sold the car just nine months / 800 miles ago. Arctic Silver is timeless on the C4S and puts great emphasis on its curved wide body, through its contrast with the black window mouldings and wheel arches etc. The bodywork throughout is in beautiful order, free from any car park dings or previous damage. Being highly critical, it’s possible to find the odd stone chip, but this is all in terms of imperfections. Our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing has been carried out, presenting paintwork that is without a swirl mark and its condition protected for the foreseeable. Being a non-sun roof model, the roofline is uncompromised and sleek looking. The headlights are clear, having not suffered yellow tinging from UV light oxidisation, which is a common suffering on the 996. Beneath lay the original wide body alloy wheels, which are without a mark. An inoffensive black leather interior fills the cabin of the Porsche. The overall condition is fantastic, with even the heavily used areas, such as steering wheel, handbrake and driver’s side bolstering showing only modest wear. Areas such as the carpets, headlining and dashboard are incredibly clean and make it hard to believe the Porsche is 20 years old. All electrical functions work as they’re meant to, inclusive of the ice-cool air conditioning, which had its front to rear low pressure pipe renewed and a system re-gas with us upon first sale. Some sought after features within the interior’s specification include sports hard back seats with shoulder supports, front seat heating, Porsche crested head rests, Guards Red seat belts, cruise control, aluminium look dial binnacles, Tequipment gear stick and handbrake with aluminium embodiment, anti-dazzle rear view mirror with rain sensor, anti-dazzle wing mirror, headlamp washers, Litronic xenon headlights, rear parking sensors. There are two remote key fobs present. As noted, we first sold this example just nine months ago, carrying out our usual fastidious sales preparation process (detailed below) leaving a 911 that drives and performs just as Porsche intended. The IMS bearing was upgraded 5 years / 11,000 miles ago, nullifying the IMS cause for concern. At this time, the clutch, flywheel and rear main oil seal were also renewed, offering a light clutch pedal and a dry underside to the engine. The 3.6 litre boxer engine mounted over the rear axle starts crisply, idles smoothly, and has brilliant performance on the road. Stainless steel sports back boxes are fitted, emitting a glorious flat 6 bark. The all important manual gearbox goes through its six speeds seamlessly. The brakes, which are enlarged and shared with the Turbo on the 4S variant, were renewed in all four corners upon our first sale preparation, and as such, are still as new, providing powerful stopping ability. A fairly comprehensive suspension overhaul has been undertaken over the last few years, including a list of items renewed by us 9 months ago (detailed below). As a result, the Porsche handles beautifully and is joyous to be behind the wheel of on twisty roads. A vast servicing record is with the 911, made up of a folder filled to the brim with paperwork such as invoices for works completed since new, historic MOT certificates, previous sales documents, HPI reports etc. The original Porsche leather owners wallet contains all of the original manuals and the maintenance booklet, exhibiting the 17 service intervals that have been completed, detailed as follows: 13/08/2003 – 12,200 miles, 19/10/2004 – 18,650 miles, 28/09/2006 – 26,517 miles, 29/05/2008 – 39,099 miles, 14/05/2009 – 49,951 miles, 19/08/2010 – 63,000 miles, 13/05/2011 – 70,668 miles, 07/01/2013 – 77,699 miles, 16/06/2014 – 85,944 miles, 30/12/2016 – 90,409 miles, 10/04/2017 – 92,048 miles, 19/08/2017 – 92,724 miles, 11/05/2018 – 98,170 miles, 18/04/2019 – 100,565 miles, 10/07/2020 – 102,632 miles, 01/07/2021 – 102,946 miles, 06/05/2022 – 103,186 miles.
