Seller's description
PORSCHE 996 CARRERA 2 – MANUAL – 1999 (T REG) – COBALT BLUE I have owned this car for just over 3 years and in my ownership it has had no expense spared by myself (£5,000+) and the previous owner. I spent a while looking for a solid 996 and this ticked all the boxes. Drivability wise, it's has almost everything needed to make it a perfectly set up tactile joy to drive. THE CAR 1999 (T reg) Carrera 2 (Cable throttle) Manual gearbox Originally specced with factory LSD, sports seats and M030 (most since changed) - 116,500 miles (bought at 105k) - Service book with annual oil and filter changes recorded. Replacement engine fitted by Porsche Aberdeen at around 60k (approx. £10k), AT code with the IMS updates of that period - Gearbox replaced just before I bought it (noisy bearings), same code box with LSD 2 x keys MOT until 31/5/2027 (Advisory of brakes remedied with new discs and pads) ENGINE, GEARBOX & SUSPENSION MAINTENANCE & UPGRADES (BY MILEAGE) - 90k: low-temp thermostat and magnetic sump plug. 92k: 200-cell X-pipe cats with new lambdas 94k: new clutch, gearbox seal, gearbox insert and borescope by Motortune 95k: TopGear silencers (mild), Gundo modded at around 100k - Sound great, not too loud 97k: rear discs and pads 102k: Koni Sport dampers and Vogtland springs - 104k: full respray from Zenith Blue to Cobalt Blue (2021) - 104k: X51 sump - 105k: spark plugs - 105k: front arms replaced - RS engine mounts - 105k rear jacking points cut out and replaced with new factory parts - All the usual 996 rust problem areas fixed in the last couple of years 107k H&R Uprated anti rollbars fitted - Front and rear, Adjustable drop links fitted (Reverted to stock but will be included with sale) 112k - Full suspension refresh (Coffin arms, track rods, control arms - where applicable) 112k - New power steering hydraulic lines fitted 112k - Alignment performed 115k - New disks and pads on front BODYWORK & EXTERIOR Cobalt Blue respray (originally Zenith Blue; changed due to corrosion on the wings and general condition) Underside of bonnet and engine bay still Zenith, not noticeable Build sticker etc. all still present - GT3 RS vents cut into front bumper Ducktail with front lip to replicate aero bumper (Painted original will go with sale) Mk1 side skirts painted and ready to fit - Easily reversible back to OEM look 116k - Welding repair carried out by professional car welding firm on chassis legs under car, undersealed (have pictures & Invoice) INTERIOR Centre console delete 987 seats (replacing the sports seats) Function First gear knob with 997 short shifter - Original gear knob etc. included WHEELS & Tyres 18in TechArt wheels on dunlop sportmaxx - 2 x new tyres on rear fitted 500 miles ago. These wheels are rare and expensive. KNOWN ISSUES (BEING OPEN AND HONEST) - Bonnet release cable snapped. Replacement included, not fitted. Opens via the emergency release which is easily accessible through front bumper. Front bumper has 2 deep scratches, touched in, will need a repaint at some point. If looking to make show standard bonnet would need a blow over also. Aircon compressor seized. Replacement included, not fitted. Currently running a non-AC belt. Air bag light - Changed the correct sensor and module however this needs PIWIS/Durametric to map to car. This is a fairly common issue on these. The light clears and doesn't return until the car is restarted indicating it's not an open loop, however my diagnostic tool is not quite advanced to allow it to be resolved fully. PARTS INCLUDED in sale Spare Bonnet release cable GT2 chimney and third radiator support (to make the RS vents functional) Mk1 side skirts (painted cobalt blue) US gearbox detent - Pin to aid gearbox engagement in 2nd gear however I have not felt the requirement to fit Spare Aircon compressor Original gear knob I have a set of Turbo twist 1's which can be negotiated separately also. Aberdeenshire based.
