Seller's description
Chassis no. WP0ZZZ99ZTS392071 was produced on the 12th of June 1995 and supplied new on 28th September 1995. The car was 1 of just 17 cars reportedly delivered new to Japan, and one of just 172 road cars built. This example nearly wasn't built, as the first owner amended his original order for a 993 GT2 in race specification, after he was made aware by the supplying dealer that the factory had confirmed a short run of street legal examples. Correspondence from the agent on file. The letter of origin on file from Porsche confirms the car was produced to Japanese specification, left hand drive, and was sold on 28.09.1995 in Polar Silver Metallic A8A8, with black leatherette bucket seats with dark grey leather inlays. Correspondence of file also confirms it was also fitted with the highly sought after earlier Sports steering wheel- also used in a GT1. There is a comprehensive history file containing the aforementioned order and specification correspondence between the first owner and the agents together with original Japanese Porsche service books, stamped and a file of invoices from Australia and the UK showing that the car has been regularly maintained. Also on file is Porsche specialists Jasmine Porschalink's list of all services undertaken between March 1997 at 3,714 kilometres and June 2024 at 34,010 kilometres (27 in all) plus the service book stamped by Porsche and various independent specialists. Invoices for all work done after June 2019 are on file and the car was MoT'd to May 2025. Imported into the UK in February 2020, the car was acquired by the current owner for his collection in February 2021. Since then it has been driven regularly, attending the Le Mans Classic in 2022 and various local Porsche events. The car also has a full professionally fitted PPF. As one would expect with an example of this quality, the car comes complete with handbooks, tools, jack and the original exhaust system (a sports exhaust is fitted at present). As road-going GT2s seldom come to market, and many of those road cars were still used competitively, the opportunity to acquire an unmolested low-mileage and low ownership example is one not to be missed by the discerning Porsche or supercar collector. 567 Top tinted windscreen 002 Carrera RS or GT2 street version 004 GT2 049 Internal production code 130 Control and indications in English 193 Version for Japan 210 Licence plate space Europe and ROW 220 LSD limited slip differential with 40% lock 224 ABD Automatic Braking Differential (Traction control) 323 Sticker with ECE regulations 338 Rear wheel drive 384 Leather seat left 385 Leather bucket seat right 405 18"Carrera RS/GT2 wheels 434 Work instructions for cars for overseas 435 Momo steering wheel 455 Wheel locks 459 Strut bar 480 Manual gearbox 6 speed 492 Headlamps for left hand traffic 545 92 litre fuel tank 564 Without airbags 657 Power steering 659 Board computer 660 OBD 2 on-board diagnostic 912 Without European ID plate Conceived for homologation purposes for Porsche to have a competitive entry in the 1995 GT2 class. Visually the model is distinguished by its bolt-on wider wheel arches to accommodate a wider track, lightweight mag centre Speedline wheels and an adjustable large racing rear wing with integrated air scoops. First seen at the Essen Motor Show in November 1994 in prototype form, the GT2 variant was based on the contemporary 911 Turbo, using essentially the same twin-turbocharged engine but with RWD only opposed to the Turbo's 4wd. In the GT2 the 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six engine produced around 430 bhp initially (with 450 bhp in later Evo models), which was good enough for a top speed of 187 mph. 0-100 mph was achieved in 7.2 seconds, which in period was only bested by a McLaren F1. Race derivatives featured an engine with more extensive modifications, producing 480bhp +. Brake, suspension, interior and bodywork upgrades harnessed to a lighter RWD only transmission led to a weight saving of 200 kgs over the 993 Turbo model on which the GT2 was based. Alloy panels, lightweight racing seats, and deletion of interior soundproofing/rear seats and any superfluous trim. The most expensive model in the 911 range, the GT2 in its original Type 993 incarnation was produced up to 1998. 194 road cars were made and they are very sought after. RM sold one on the 2nd December from the White Collection for £1.9m....The cars now tend to reside in long term collections and are seldom offered for sale. Today seen by many as the ultimate air-cooled Porsche.
