Seller's description
1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet, registration [registration removed] SAA, in genuinely great condition. Black with a beige leather interior, five-speed manual, and one of the rarer body styles of the best 944. THE LOOK This is peak-80s Porsche design: the wide, flared wheel arches, the low wedge profile and, of course, the pop-up headlights. Very few cars still on the road have them, and they turn heads every time they come up. In black with the roof down it looks exactly like the poster car it was. WHY IT'S SUCH A GOOD DRIVE The S2 has the 3. 0-litre, four-cylinder, 16-valve engine, one of the largest four-cylinder engines ever fitted to a production car. It's all about torque: huge pull through the mid-range, so you don't need to chase the redline to make quick progress. Combined with the transaxle layout and near 50/ 50 weight balance, it's a properly fun and balanced car to drive, with the roof down or up. RECENT WORK - Brand new Bilstein suspension throughout - New brakes - New battery ENGINE Approximately 82, 000 miles. When my specialist had the car in, he noted that the engine internals and the underside look almost new. His view is that it has had an engine rebuild at some point, although I don't have paperwork to confirm this. You're welcome to have the car inspected. MOT MOT valid until 9 April 2027. Passed in March 2026 with no advisories, and the DVSA history shows a pass every year since 2020, with no advisories on the last three tests. Mileage history on the record is consistent throughout. SUMMARY - 1990 944 S2 Cabriolet, 3. 0 16v, manual - Black exterior, beige leather interior, pop-up headlights - Approx. 82, 000 miles - New Bilstein suspension, new brakes, new battery - MOT to April 2027, no advisories - Drives and presents very well PRICE £20, 000, not negotiable. The price reflects the car's condition and the recent work, so please don't message with offers. No part exchange or trades. The car is in London (W2). Viewings and inspections are welcome. Please message me with any questions or to arrange a viewing. It's the combination that makes this car: the pop-up headlights and pure 80s wedge styling, a big-hearted 3. 0-litre 16-valve four with tons of mid-range torque, and the balanced transaxle chassis, all with the roof down. The S2 Cabriolet is the rarer body style and this one is black over beige leather, which is exactly how it should look. REASON FOR SALE Simple: we now have three kids and I can't fit everyone in it anymore. It's not going because anything's wrong with it.
