Seller's description

IF THIS LISTING IS STILL LIVE I HAVE NOT TAKEN A DEPOSIT ON THE CAR, I HAVE ADDED THE MOST COMMON FAQ'S (SO FAR) AT THE BOTTOM. Rare opportunity to acquire 1 of 10 [registration removed] 911 Targa Commemorative Edition cars. Registered new on 22/ 01/ 1988 at Charles Follet 6 previous owners, last owner had it 8 years and I have owned it for 10, both of us where Porsche GB club members. Full service history, I have just started a new service book as the first one was full Massive folder of receipts, both keys, book pack and toolkit Engine rebuilt by renowned experts at Canford Classics with the necessary upgraded parts around 140k During my ownership I had the interior rebuilt with all new door and targa seals, I managed to source the last original carpet set from Lakwell in Belgium and upgrade the media to a Porsche PCCM Classic and a speaker set up to rival a modern car, all hidden away to retain the period correct look. I also had a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm with remote central locking fitted. Its had loads of new incidental parts, starter motor, battery, brakes etc during my ownership, its starts on the button every spring and is a joy to cruise around in the sunshine. I have just had its annual service and MOT The previous owner upgrade the exhaust to a Turbo Thomas unit Fitted turbo steering tie rods Rebuild all the brakes and fit green stuff pads all new hoses where done whilst the engine was rebuilt Clutch leads rotors and caps I removed the spoiler as I prefer a smooth back on the narrow body cars, but I have the parts, and they are included with the sale, so you can put it all back on if you prefer. I would class this as a driver quality car thats been used as intended, with all the necessary paperwork to back it up. I wouldn't think twice about jumping in it and heading off to Europe. It wears its patina well, but not a perfect car, it's nearly 40 years old! There is a perfect one for sale at the moment for £139k if thats your thing. Its priced to sell to an enthusiast who recognises the rarity of the vehicle, I'm only selling to replace with a modern targa with a PDK that is easier for the family to enjoy on a more regular basis, and not in any rush. Any questions just give me a call, love to chat with fellow Porsche enthusiast On the 3rd of June 1987, Porsche celebrated the production of the 250, 000th 911, To mark the occasion Porsche commissioned a special edition vehicle based on the 3. 2 Carrera. Only 875 cars where made of which 50 where delivered to the UK, 30 were coupes, 10 were convertibles and 10 were targas. There is several unique features to this car. Diamond Blue metallic paint with matching centres on the Fuch wheels. Dark blue slightly metallic ruffled leather and Deep pile carpets from the turbo Ferry Porsche signature on the headrests (the only model to ever have this feature) Shorter gear shift I have owned the car for 10 years and enjoyed it immensely, it turns heads and starts conversations everywhere I take it. It was a display car at the 70 year Porsche anniversary at Cholmondely Castle, Ive done multiple weddings and proms for friends and family, and its a hard decision to sell it. FAQ'S Does it have any corrosion/ rot? - Not that I can see, and certainly not in my ownership, The car for the 8 years before me was cosseted as part of a collection and during my ownership its kept in an insulated garage, so you can be confident its been stored correctly in its later years. Has it had any paintwork? - Almost certainly, it's nearly 40 years old. What additional jobs need doing? - It doesn't need anything immediately, however the tyres are 10 years old, it has a sticky brake caliper, some corrosion in a brake line and the anti roll bar d bushes are deteriorating. Am I interested in a PX for a classic ice ream van? - absolutely not!
