Seller's description
1983 Porsche 944 in Montego Black Metallic, Left-Hand Drive, Manual 5 Speed, 132, 681KM, Full-Service & Restoration History, 1 Owner, Private Seller. I ordered and purchased this Porsche 944 from Autohaus Minrath-Moers, in Germany in March 1983 and after 43 years have decided it is now time to offer it up for sale. I drove the car in Germany from 1983 through to 1995 and then brought it to the UK in late 1995, had it UK registered and then stored for several years before deciding to have it refurbished and upgraded. This was undertaken between 2007 and 2010. Over the next four years I used it occasionally in the UK and for several months while back in Germany, on regular basis. Finally, I returned permanently to the UK in late 2015 and stored it in my garage, later placed it under cover in the driveway. The attached photos give an accurate record of its present condition highlighting the several areas of bodywork that require attention. Having been stored for all those years there will be several mechanical items also now requiring replacement / refurbishment. The interior surfaces were refurbished with Bentley Nappa Leather together with the chalk stripe inserts and add a touch of real quality. There is a full Porsche Germany / UK service history recorded in the original service book over the period 1983 through to 2014, plus a list of 35 no. invoices for various services, repairs and restoration works covering the period February 1998 through to November 2024. These invoices total just over £30K. A spreadsheet listing the details of all restoration and repair works carried out, together with costings, can be provided on request for genuinely interested parties. Happy to answer any questions. Collection will require lifting onto a low loader as I suspect the brakes may have seized. Sensible offers please reflecting the present condition together with the value of restoration work previously carried out. A rare opportunity to buy a 1 owner 944 that has always been well cared for and with a substantial amount of restoration & modification work done, albeit some more now required to bring it back to its condition in 2014.
