Seller's description
Certain cars are rare. Others possess a history that elevates them into an entirely different category. This extraordinary Porsche 911 (930) Turbo is one such motor car, combining exceptionally low mileage, remarkable originality and a fascinating connection to one of the most influential rock bands in music history. Chassis number 93A0070625 was originally purchased by the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin as a gift for their manager, Peter Grant. Acquired through the renowned Porsche specialist Duncan Hamilton & Co. Ltd, the car was specially ordered in black, complemented by a sumptuous full burgundy hide interior — an exceptionally striking combination that extends to the dashboard and knee roll. The specification was further enhanced by the inclusion of air conditioning and a sunroof, creating a highly individual example of Porsche's iconic 930 Turbo. Peter Grant retained ownership of the Porsche until his death in 2005. Remarkably, the car remained registered in his name until its subsequent acquisition by my client, at which point the odometer showed approximately 12,000 miles. Perhaps most compelling of all is the car's extraordinary state of originality. Never restored, it remains a wonderfully preserved example of the 930 Turbo, retaining the character and authenticity that only an exceptionally low-mileage, unrestored car can offer. In a market where many examples have been restored, modified or extensively used, the opportunity to acquire a car of this provenance and originality is exceptionally rare. The Porsche 911 Turbo of this era represents one of the most charismatic chapters in Porsche's history, renowned for its formidable performance, distinctive wide-bodied silhouette and unmistakable turbocharged character. This particular example adds a unique cultural dimension to that legacy, with its documented connection to Peter Grant and Led Zeppelin. Chassis 93A0070625 is far more than a low-mileage Porsche 911 Turbo. It is a remarkably original survivor, a compelling piece of rock 'n' roll history and an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire an iconic 930 with an exceptional story to tell.
