Seller's description
This Porsche 912 is a charming and rare classic sports coupe, presented in a distinctive factory colour and equipped with a desirable five-speed manual transmission. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre air-cooled flat-four engine, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. First registered in 1966, this example was previously registered in the US and was imported and the seller states the car was first registered in the UK in 2015. It has been with the seller for over 11 years, who states that they are the second UK owner. The seller believes that fewer than 800 Aga Blue 912s were sold in 1966. The seller states that the car has benefitted from a documented restoration totalling more than £72,000. The car's engine is matching numbers. The odometer indicates 39,288 miles, though this is not warranted. Equipment and features This 912 is finished in the appealing shade of Aga Blue (6608), over a black leatherette-trimmed interior, featuring black and white houndstooth cloth front seat inserts, and a brushed metal dashboard inlay. It rides on a set of 15-inch chromed steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, fitted with Michelin XAS tyres. Equipment includes a four-spoke steering wheel, glow-in-the-dark VDO gauges, push-out front and rear quarter light windows, and a period correct push-button Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. This example has been fitted with period 911 S front seats and Pioneer door card speakers. Accompanied by its original 1966 owner's manual and original tool kit, a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, and a large collection of maintenance invoices. Condition Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: there is a small paint chip on the driver's door. The car was repainted as part of its three-year restoration. Service history The car was most recently serviced in June 2025 at an indicated 37,994 miles by Porsche specialist Export 56 Limited, which included an engine oil and filter change, new spark plugs, a new heavy-duty rocker cover gasket, a new fuel filter, replacement front wheel hubs, new front wheel hub bearings, replacement wheel studs, new front brake discs, the brake callipers being rebuilt, new hard-lines from the flexi to calliper on the front brakes, new front brake pads, new headlight and rear light drain bungs, the rear engine grille studs being replaced, new left-hand headlight support brackets, wiring repairs on the left-hand headlight, all flexi fuel lines being replaced, a new fuel filler neck drain tube, new bonnet gas struts, and new front undertray seals. The seller states that documentation relating to the restoration totals more than £72,000 and that the car is accompanied by a comprehensive maintenance folder detailing all subsequent post-resto servicing works, an additional £10k+ of work in the last five years alone. Detailed documentation is available in the photo gallery. Summary The Porsche 912 is a delightful classic sports car, offering an engaging driving experience with its nimble chassis and characterful air-cooled flat-four engine. This particular example stands out with its rare Aga Blue finish and desirable five-speed manual gearbox. Presented in a rarely seen and attractive colour scheme, it would make a fine addition to any collection of classic Porsches, and promises to be a rewarding companion for scenic drives and classic car events.
