Seller's description
This Porsche 911 SWB is a very early ‘301 series’ example of the iconic classic sports car, retaining its factory colour scheme and matching-numbers engine. Powered by a 2.0-litre air-cooled flat-six engine, delivering power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. First registered in 1965, this car was supplied to the US market, to its first owner in South Carolina. It is understood this first custodian kept the car for two years, covering some 27,000 miles. The car was treated to extensive restoration work, including an engine overhaul and a gearbox rebuild by Porsche specialist Graham Everett Motorsport in Georgia between 2014 and 2015. More recently, it was imported to the UK and registered with the DVLA in 2019. The odometer shows 52,684 miles, though this is not warranted. Equipment and features Built in May 1965, this is a sought-after ‘301 series’ chassis from the 911’s first full calendar year of production. The car is finished in its original factory colour scheme of Signal Red over a black interior. Its factory specification included a tinted windscreen and Webasto panel heater. Accompanied by service history and original handbooks, and one key. Condition Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Service history The seller states that the most recent maintenance was in November 2025. BS Motorsport carried out various work in September 2024, including replacement of the rear main oil seal and oil pressure sender, resealing of the gearbox, engine oil filter change, new clutch cable, replacement of the rear shock absorbers, renewal of the rear wheel bearings, and a geometry setup. In August 2024, Tuthill Porsche carried out a full rebuild of the Solex carburettors, along with bench setup and road testing. An extensive restoration including engine overhaul and gearbox rebuild were completed by Graham Everett Motorsport in 2015. Summary The early Porsche 911 2.0 SWB is a truly iconic sports car, celebrated for its pure driving dynamics, timeless styling, and enduring appeal. This particular car is a rare ‘301 series’ chassis from the first full calendar year of production, and stands out in its factory colours and with its matching-numbers engine. It would make a desirable addition to any collection of classics or Porsches, and promises to be a characterful companion for weekend drives and prestigious car events.
